QUEEN

Imported Italian goods have always lined the shelves and Italian mammas still buy their prosciutto and mortadella on Saturday mornings. Despite a few expansions and renovations (have you seen the patio out back lately?), Terroni on Queen remains, well, Terroni on Queen. Don’t fret about the ‘no reservations’ policy: the line moves fairly quickly.

ADELAIDE

Located at the York Country Courthouse, we kept the historic details (the jail cells downstairs now serve as wine cellars) while adding some of our own modern charms, like a wall of prosciutto, a wild boar’s head, Sicilian puppets and a gorgeous bar inlaid with marble.

The venue includes 350 seats spread out across the palazzo-like entrance, the sun-lit atrium, the patio out back, the cantina downstairs, and the spectacular main dining room book-ended by fireplaces. Here we have some private rooms (yes, that means you can reserve these spaces), which include the tinello and ufficio on the main floor and the lower level’s cantina.

LOS ANGELES

Yes, the city of Angels has had a bona fide Terroni in the heart of the Fairfax district since the autumn of 2007. Expect the well-crafted food and thoughtful design with a wine library housing nearly a 1000 Italian varietals behind a clandestine blue bookcase entryway.
